““I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful sailboat cruise aboard the “Kai Angel” on the Columbia River.  My team of engineers thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon on the water and have repeatedly told me it was the best team building experience they have ever been on while at Intel.  Most of my team were not experienced sailors, so they really appreciated the patience and training you provided before we left the dock and while we were sailing.

It was especially rewarding to see my staff taking up positions onboard while we tacked back and forth from Oregon to Washington shorelines.  Many of my team members have lived in the Portland area all of their lives, but they all learned so much about the Columbia River’s rich history.  My team has always worked pretty well together, but the sense of teamwork and pride in taking on a new challenge and mastering it has taken the team “Esprit de corps” up to the next level. 

Every detail on the boat was perfect with wonderful food and drinks, amazing galley and restroom.  My team cannot wait for warm weather and another opportunity to sail again with Captain Henry!!

““We cannot say enough about our sailing lessons aboard the Kai Angel with Henry Cohn.  From the beginning, I really appreciated how organized and systematic he was when it came to our education.  Henry created a binder for each of us with sailing theory, diagrams of the boat and points of sail, and critical information regarding boat safety.  It was wonderful because we could review it in between lessons.  He started with a dockside lesson on the boat and made sure we were comfortable with the concepts and new vocabulary before heading out onto the water for hands-on teaching.   I loved how each lesson he started at the beginning with how to prepare and start the boat so one day we can do it on our own without assistance. 

On the water, Henry was very patient and ensured all our maneuvers were safe.   I appreciated how he talked through each maneuver to ensure we understood all the components.  A day sailing with Henry is a great one!” ”

“We took a five week holiday in the US seeing NY, CA, NV, and finally Oregon where we visited our close friends. Portland Yachting Adventures was a recommended must so my boyfriend and I decided to take the couples cruise.

In short, this was the best experience of our 5 week trip! The Northwest is beautiful and seeing it from the waters was amazing. Quite chuffed with the time spent with Captain Henry! Hilarious, charming, professional, and lovely to chat with!”

“As an open water swimmer, laissez faire surfer and a general lover of boats, I’ve spent much of my life around the water, but never have I experienced anything quite like this.

We began our magical sunset ride with family, friends and an incredible captain. Captain Henry was charming, funny and so full of knowledge. He shared incredible history, pointed out Oregon’s insanely beautiful geographic landmarks and engaged so naturally with everyone on board.

But his real skill was the ability to transform each simple request into a wonderful adventure. Whether we requested a passenger drop off at a distant dock, a little bit of music (ask him for oldies and he will give you a performance and so might his crew!) or a photo of the sunset, Henry delivered! He had us working the boat (both kids and adults), singing boisterously and gave us the photos we asked for, from EVERY angle.

I couldn’t help but watch my family and friends as they smiled, concentrated, laughed and relaxed all they way through. It was a fantastic and unforgettable experience on the water with an exceptional captain. ”
